Stately, Plump
October 15th, 2008

My roommate borrowed the complete 007 movie collection from one of our neighbors last night. I decided to pop in Goldfinger this morning since I had never seen it. It blew me away. I really really like the imagery in it. The opening credits are amazing and the gold painted girls are rad. Plus I have been listening to a lot of Nancy Sinatra lately and the music in these remind me of her music (same time period, plus she has at least one song about spies and at least one song in a 007 movie), which is amazing. I think I may watch all 21 of the movies from today to next Sunday.
Last night was the Sigur Ros show at the Orpheum. Lindsay and I went after eating at Goldbergs II. It was also the night of the second worst storms of the year. When we got there they weren’t letting people sitedown yet because they wanted to make sure the Tornado warnings would be over before the band played, so we, along with a hundred or so other people, just sat outside in the pouring rain. It was really fun. There were two casualties though, my socks, and Lindsay’s umbrella. The Umbrella broke while Eric, Mary, Lindsay and I were putting our umbrellas together to make a giant umbrella. It was working well for about thirty seconds until the force of a giant gust of wind pushed our umbrella inside out and broke some of the metal pieces. As for my socks, I had to throw them away. I was wearing my toms (http://tomsshoes.com), which was not a great choice for a rainy night, and they got soaked along with my socks. So I threw the socks away. Oh, and the show was freaking amazing!
Here is a photo of some people running into the Orpheum right after they opened up the seating.

Sheriff Ponies (our bike gang) is finally starting up again. Our first ride of the year will be this Thursday at 6 p.m. Everyone is invited as long as you are nice! Also, I put up a new one page site for people to check out when we are going to have rides. Dave also re-did the logo and it looks great! Check it out!
So we put together an album of Mel’s original recordings of our songs. We did all the design and packaging in less than 4 hours! I really like how it turned out. Mel’s recordings are so amazing. They are $7 dollars and are limited to 100 copies.

We got the new Honeybee and Bear Country shirts in. Heres a look at them.

Here are a list of bad things that happened yesterday. It was a wonderful day still so I wasn’t very bummed about any of them.
I think there were a few more but I can’t recall them. I will add them later if I remember anything.
So my oldest brother told me a few years ago that I am deathly allergic to bees. He said that when I was younger I got stung in the neck and I almost died. I am not sure if this is true (although my mom backed him up so it probably is). Well, ever since he told me that, I have been extremely afraid of them. Today in the office there was a wasp. It was scary (weirdly, Dave was watching “Bee Movie” at the time.) but Dave and John Henry saved my life and took the Wasp outside.

Here are the two heroes in action!

Meet & Potatoes was at SecretPenguin/What-Cheer this month and it was amazing. I met a lot of really nice designers. It was a really really good time.

I had to duck out a little early though to play a show at Slowdown with Honeybee. Our good friends Pomegranates and Capgun Coup played as well, it was a really fun show. Capgun Coup is soooo amazing.

Photos courtesy of Dave! I was too busy having fun to take any!
